Woah I am finally done reading PREP. Well Yestraday I went to the library and I was so planning and looking forward to broughing the book GO ASK ALICE, but it wasn't there. Too many people wanted that book. I was a bit sad because after reading all the blog entries from some of my friends about this book, it made me want to read it too. So then I went back to the bookcase to look up books with anonymous authors and I found JAY'S JOURNAL. What made me want to read it was the fact that Br. Beautrice Sparks, the same dude that discovered GO ASK ALICE edited this book. Also I searched the book online and it sounded super interesting. Its about this boy, Jay goes into drugs and believing in witchcraft and soon into sucide. I am up for a big adventure.
I started reading the book and what I noticed is that its actually the diary of Jay. He writes poems. Like this small poem made me wonder:
" He wanted in
I wanted out
He had a smile
I had a pout
I need someone to understand
God, how I need a helping hand"
This small poem in his journal made me wondered if there are too sides to him. Like the good side that knows all the consquences and a bad side that is rebellious and is not thinking of the outcome. He seems to be asking god to help him choose which side too follow: good or bad.

Oh! I heard of this book. But I haven't read it. When I was looking up "Go Ask Alice" last week, I was reading something about how Beatrice Sparks claimed that this book (Jay's Journal) was also written by one of her teenage patients, and although some fictional events were added, the basic plot/sense of the diary/journal was kept the same. But guess what? The family of the teenage patient denounced the book, and said that only a few of the diary entries were real, and that the whole "occult angle" of the book was made up. Interesting, huh? Anyways, it really makes me wonder what's truthful and what's fictional in the book.
I don't remember where I read this, but I think I read it off wikipedia or something.
Wow. That sound like an interesting book. And I love the poem. It's so interesting. It's also interesting how you interpreted it. I would have thought that it was peer presure or something like that. Well hope you like the book.
This book sounds really interesting. For some reason i find that "diary" book always seem to evoke a lot of emotion when I read them. I guess it's the rawness of it all when the writer tells us about her/his situations.
I heard about this book, I see people carrying it around in school and i wonder what it could be about. I dont think ill be very "cool" walking around with a book like prep, but i still want to read it. :)
